The most recent addition to Talisker’s innovative partnership with the global environmental organization Parley also represents the distillery’s inaugural launch of a 45-year-old single malt. Crafting this extraordinary whisky involved taking 12 deeply charred casks on an expedition to the pristine Canadian glacial ice fields.

Positioned on the frozen landscape, these casks endured the harsh Arctic winds for 96 hours amid freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall. This unique exposure transformed the casks, imparting a distinctive character that provided an ideal finishing touch to this rare whisky.

Tasting Notes from Producer

Aspect	Description
NOSE	Rich, dry, and mellow, with a light peppery prickle. Clear maritime top notes of seaweed and iodine; glacial mineral companions suggesting slaked lime and salt crystals. Complex sweet aromas hint at dried fruits and creamy vanilla, providing depth and richness. Light smoke threads the background, touched by aromatic sandalwood.
PALATE	Wondrously oil-smooth and mouth-filling texture; the taste begins toffee-sweet and evolves into mouth-wateringly salty and increasingly peppery. Even at this age, a striking intensity is present, along with a fine chilli ‘catch.’ A dash of water integrates these tastes, adding an attractive saltiness to the toffee reminiscent of salted caramels, with slightly less pepper.
FINISH	Very long, with a glorious chilli pepper effect and a trace of candle wax. This effect grows in the aftertaste, where both saltiness and pepper persist. The addition of water makes it saltier, with less pepper and faint scented smoke.
