Coppersea Raw Rye Unaged Whiskey is an unaged “raw” rye spirit from Coppersea Distilling in West Park, New York — a pre-barrel expression that lets the brand’s grain, malting, and copper-still distillation lead, without barrel influence.

Established in 2011 on a 70-acre Hudson Valley farm, Coppersea is one of only four U.S. distilleries with its own floor malting space — fresh, moistened grain is spread across the malting floor and allowed to sprout for about five days, converting starches to the sugars and enzymes that feed fermentation. Fermentation runs in two 500-gallon American-made wood mash tubs (one corn, one rye); the mash travels to the stills by gravity; distillation occurs in hand-hammered alembic copper stills inside a custom-built still oven. Without barrel aging, the Raw Rye showcases the unbroken green-grain character of that pre-cask Coppersea workflow.
