The inclusion of cream sherry casks — a rarity in Redbreast whiskey, sourced from Antonio Páez Lobato — is what makes the 18 Year distinctive within the range. Cream sherry is a sweeter, lighter style than Oloroso, contributing honey, dried apricot, and a softer sweetness that complements rather than duplicates the darker, richer Oloroso influence. Combined with ruby port’s berry-fruit complexity and the bourbon barrel’s vanilla foundation, the four-cask program produces the fruity aroma, hazelnut chocolate depth, and caramelized stone fruit sweetness that the Master Blender designed this expression to deliver.
