Templeton Rye began during 1920s Prohibition as a bootleg rye whiskey in Templeton, Iowa — affectionately dubbed “The Good Stuff” and reportedly favored by Al Capone. It was legally re-established in 2001 by Scott Bush and Meryl Kerkhoff (son of original bootlegger Alphonse Kerkhoff), distilled to the Kerkhoff Prohibition-era recipe.
