El Jolgorio Barril Joven Mezcal is a wild-varietal artisanal mezcal from El Jolgorio — the Oaxacan collective curated by the Cortés family bringing together top mezcal distillers from across the state. Barril (Agave karwinskii subspecies) belongs to the karwinskii family of agaves, growing in hilly Oaxacan terrain with a long stalk resembling a tree. Produces a mezcal of great complexity, balancing sweetness and citrus.

El Jolgorio represents 16 different families working in 10 different regions of Oaxaca, with each bottle hand-marked with batch details to connect the drinker with the producer. The Barril expression sits among the wild karwinskii-family mezcals that have driven the artisanal mezcal renaissance — distinctly more elegant and structurally complex than cultivated Espadin.
