TINCUP American Whiskey

Description

TINCUP American Whiskey is the flagship expression from Colorado’s TINCUP Whiskey — a blend of corn, rye, and malt cut with pure Rocky Mountain water and aged in American white oak barrels to produce a bold, spicy character with notes of pepper balanced by the sweeter, bourbon-leaning flavors the corn content contributes.

TINCUP takes its name from an old mining town on the western side of the Rockies, and the tin cup cap on the bottle nods to the cups Colorado’s original miners drank from. Created by distiller Jess Graber — who has been distilling since 1972 — the brand is built around the premise that American whiskey should be made in and for the mountains. The Rocky Mountain water gives the final blend a distinctive clean and crisp quality that differentiates it from lowland American whiskeys. Browse all TINCUP whiskey at Wooden Cork.

Frequently Asked Questions

What style of whiskey is TINCUP?

TINCUP American Whiskey is a blended American whiskey — a combination of corn, rye, and malt that sits between bourbon and rye in character. The corn provides sweetness and body; the rye provides the spice and pepper; the Rocky Mountain water provides a clean, crisp finish that is distinctively Colorado.

Is TINCUP similar to bourbon?

Similar in approach but distinct in character. TINCUP uses a corn-heavy mash bill like bourbon and American oak aging, but the rye content produces a spicier, bolder character than most standard bourbons, and the Rocky Mountain water profile gives it a cleaner, crisper finish than most Kentucky expressions.
