High Coast Distillery Dàlvee The Signature Malt is the debut single malt from High Coast Distillery (formerly Box Distillery) in Kramfors, Härnösand, Sweden — launched in November 2016 as the distillery’s first release since founding in 2010. Produced from 100% malted barley and water from the Höga Kusten (High Coast) region of northern Sweden, aged in a combination of first-fill bourbon and sherry casks.

High Coast is in Sweden’s Höga Kusten UNESCO World Heritage region, where extreme seasonal temperature variation — warm summers and cold winters — accelerates the interaction between spirit and wood compared to Scottish conditions, producing more rapid development of oak character in fewer years. Dàlvee (“valley” in the local dialect) represents the distillery’s house style: fruit-forward, approachable, and distinctly Scandinavian.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fruit, vanilla, light oak, and honey. Palate: Apple, pear, vanilla, and gentle spice from the combined cask aging. Finish: Medium and fruit-forward with clean oak.
