La Medida Mezcal Espadin is a single-varietal artisanal mezcal from the collaborative La Medida brand — created by Julián Vidal Gómez Rodríguez, an unsung icon of Oaxacan mezcal for over 40 years, working alongside his son and several highly regarded mezcaleros across Miahuatlán, San Baltazar Guelavila, San Baltazar Chichicapam, and Río Golea. Espadin (Agave angustifolia) is the most cultivated agave varietal in mezcal production.

Co-founded with the legendary Don Celso, La Medida (“the measure”) showcases the diverse Oaxacan agave-distillation landscape across multiple producer communities. The Espadin expression is the foundational bottling in the lineup, presenting the classic Oaxacan mezcal profile through La Medida’s artisanal small-batch production approach.
